Sea Cadets is a training organisation with a military flavour for youth aged 13-18 year. As a part of the New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF) we provide a fun and challenging environment for learning new skills and meeting new friends. We have a focus on fostering strong leadership skills and providing many opportunities for youth not available in other organisations.
Some of the activities you’ll get to do with TS Amokura include sailing and powerboat handling, target shooting, visiting Navy ships and bases, overseas exchanges, camping, and participating in competitions against other local cadet units.
If you are looking for a new challenge, explore out website to find out more about what we can offer you or view our Join Us page to find out how to join. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Congratulations to the TS Amokura regatta team, who won the Central Area Regatta held over 16-18 March. Competing against the other four regional Sea Cadet units, the team took out the sailing, shooting, and first aid trophies, and tied with TS Tutira for the supernumerary events trophy. The team also won the Rentoul Shield for the highest aggregate points overall. Bravo Zulu everyone. Photos to come soon!
UPDATED: Congratulations to
both Chief Petty Officer Cadet Abels and Petty Officer Cadet Brannigan
who have been selected to take part in the 2012 International Sea Cadet
Exchange Programme. They will travel to Singapore in the first half of
2012. They were selected out of a number of applicants and are two of
four New Zealand Sea Cadets to take part. Bravo Zulu!
